Dressmaker… almost
This week I worked on some simple dresses, and finished them tonight.
I used no pattern. Just found some online tutorials and swung it. Not half bad….
It’s a start at least. Still a little rough. But mostly, I did it! I made something functional. I’m going to try to bust a bunch out. Since, I won’t be shopping for a while, it’ll be nice to know I can whip something up when I need a fix!
Felt Food Tutorial: Cheeseburger.
Today, I share with you my first ever tutorial.
I truly feel anyone with the most beginner sewing skills can use this. I’m not that skilled myself. Anyhow, I hope it helps. Please feel free to leave comments, suggestions or just a hello!
Red wall, gone.
Living room update.
Sunday night, I got around to painting my living room again, as planned.
Check it out.
Get to work!
I know, I have been neglecting this lately. But, I’ve been “distracted” if you will. Living on my own for the first time, not being home, brother’s family just had twins, work, new gym membership blah blah blah. Mostly, I’m just not home enough to get the things done that I want to, to use for content on this here blog. But, I’m planning a comeback. And it’s going to be a big one.
I have countless projects planned. No, really the list is pretty long. And tonight I begin, WORK! But, it’s the fun kind of work
First off: Starting TODAY, Emmiebee is doing a felt food giveaway on her blog. Not just any felt food my friends. Felt Food, handcrafted by yours truly. I know your interested, so go get some! And read Emily’s blog about raising a 13month and 1 WEEK old twins! She’s literally a superhero. We will be continuing this segment monthly over at Emmiebee.com, so stay tuned!
Just a preview.
Still haven’t got anything done that’s really notable enough to blog about. But, I’m preparing for a few projects in my apartment. Here’s a sneak peek:
So, I created this little mock up, using my favorite website, Polyvore.
However, there will be some variations. The smaller photos (which are intended to be stand ins for my Black and White photos of various old Hollywood actors) are being switched out with some colorful art prints and Sita Rupe paintings I purchased instead. Also, the brown wall, is a bit of a lighter brown. AND, sadly, I will not have the DOT coffee table. But, that’s okay. maybe I’ll find something wood on Craigslist eventually to use.
Here are some pics from my preparation last night:
Buying paint at OSH, the color in the can came out wrong, so it had to be redone. the sample on the counter is what i’m going for, and ended up getting.
Elsa, getting prepped for her mounting at the Michaels framing table.
60% custom framing at Michaels this week!!!!! I’m actually glad I waited so long to take care of it. Homegirl has been chilling in my closet for a few months :/ But, she looks great!
That’s all for my preparations for now.
Check out my sis in laws Nursery creation/makeover, over at emmiebee.com. You can see some in progress pics here, and the amazing finished product here.
