EBEW, My first maxi!
I am so glad to finally be on time to participate in Every body, Every wear! I’ve been following a long (always a day or 2 too late) and love seeing the different outfits everyone comes up with when wearing similar items. Such a fun idea!
Now, I have never been much of a maxi person. I wasn’t really a fan at all, until this season. And now I am becoming somewhat obsessed. What can I say? Sometimes it takes me some time to warm up to something and then once I’m warmed up… BAM! I need it all. The maxi skirt is the perfect example of this behavior. I have always ignored and maybe even judged them. The past few weeks I have been on mad hunts for them. I picked one up on a thrift shopping trip last week. I have a few on various wishlists that I keep on favorite shopping sites, AND I even made myself one! Today’s outfit features a super long maxi I whipped up on my own sewing machine
It’s nothing special. Just a very simple elastic waist long, long skirt. But I like it. I wanted one that went straight to the floor. With my height (and budget) it wasn’t easy to find. But, I had some nice fabric that would make a great skirt, and went for it. Here is the result.
Vneck tee: Truly Madly Deeply via Urban Outfitters
Jean Jacket: Gap
Maxi skirt: Handmade by me.
Flats: Urban Outfitters
Striped clutch: Krust.
I did learn that to the floor is slightly impractical. I think I am going to take up the length a bit, or wear it with wedges. I really wish I did wear it with wedges actually… okay, next time wedges, and then maybe I’ll take it up if I still want to.
Also! Check out my new clutch! I LOVE it! It’s the perfect clutch. Maybe I say that every time. But, really, each one I make I LOVE more than the last. So, to me they are just getting better and better everyday! This one, really though. There is NOTHING you can’t wear this clutch with… (Oooh, that might be a fun challenge!) Check it out in the shop! Krust on Etsy.
Happy Tuesday, everyone! Hope it’s great <3

I LOVE this whole outfit. High five for making your own maxi skirt- looks great! We can be twins with our brown diy elastic waist maxi skirts. I feel you on the weird floor length/wedges issue. I like flats with maxis for shopping days but I think heels look so much better for going out to dinner or work. And that clutch is AMAZING. Super impressed by your skills…
Yes! DIY Maxi twins! I Love it. I am going to try to dress it up for an evening look and give it a shot with some wedges.
This is awesome! I love that you wore a jean jacket and simple white t with the floor maxi. And that clutch is gorgeous!!!
Thank you, Kelsey! I was somewhat inspired by an outfit I saw one of the Oslen twins in. It was a reallllly long black maxi and a white vneck. I Loved it.
I love your color palate! Brown with blue + stripes = love
Thank you! I love simple color palette’s with a lot of neutrals. But, I try to find ways to spice ‘em up somewhat.
It looks pretty with flat and anytime you want to make me maxi skirt you just let me know. It’s beautiful!
Cheers,

Haha! Thanks! I hope to someday be making clothes for the masses. I have to get a little more practice.
Fellow EBEWer here. I love your maxi. It could be formal or casual and that makes it the kind of versatile that I love. AND, I adore you clutch, especially with the maxi. You look great!
Thank you! I can’t wait to dress it up for an evening outfit. Should be fun.

Thank you! I love big, chunky stripes too! especially black and white….
I love this outfit. The denim jacket with the dressier maxi looks great. What type of material did you use to make this skirt?
Thanks Jess!
The fabric is from Joanns. It a bottom weight like with a sateen finish, so it will be great as an evening skirt too.
I know this is all about the maxi, but I’m loving that clutch like mad. I keep seeing it on your Pinterest and various other places and I’m scheming about an excuse to buy myself one.
But yes, also, I dig your maxi look. I myself went for the tee-over-dress/skirt and was quite pleased with the results.
Yeah, I’m much more casual so a simple vneck just felt right. And thank you for the bag compliments. I am super duper proud of it!
Wow you are so creative! I love the subtle sheen of the maxi, but that clutch really steals the show! Fabulous!
Thank you!
This is such a cute look! I love the clutch!
Thanks!

P.S: I´m having a 100$ beauty giveaway for Chanel, YSL… products. I thought you might be interested!
I think your homemade maxi skirt looks awesome!! I’ve been scared to make my own maxi skirt with my ghetto booty…I don’t know if I can get the fabric to drape correctly and flatter me. But I guess I won’t know until I try, right? By the way, LOVE the clutch, it’s so adorable!! I think you’re right, I bet it would go with almost ANY outfit!!
Try it! I have a larger rear end. I just did an elastic waist. It worked out great.
I don’t know which I love more. The maxi, the clutch or the way you styled your look with that denim jacket. I’m glad I don’t have to choose just one. But really, you are killing me with that clutch.
Thanks for joining us at EBEW!
Thank you, Linda! Really. This was so fun.
