Some stuff.

Got some painting done Saturday night after an amazing  dinner at Harry’s Hofbreau (Seriously, Thanksgiving dinner is August, so awesome). The Living Room wall is now RED. I do like the color, but it’s not complete and needs another coat to meet my satisfaction. I’ll work on a photo update.

I am desperate for a dresser, and some side tables.

I did get a little TV cabinet on Saturday for $20. thanks to Sarah and her Ice Cream truck for having the perfect amount of space to haul it over.

oh, ANDDDDD my 6 1/2 month old nephew is a lucky bro, just found out this morning, he will have TWIN siblings next March. Amazing. I am the most excited Aunt, ever.

Oh, the joys of employment… for real, though.

Notice the time. 1am, Friday evening/Saturday morning.

I just climbed into bed. Now 1am isn’t far off from my usual bedtime, But, I just got home from work about 30 minutes ago.
Straight worked 9am-12am, an awesome 14 hour day, with a break additional to lunch, that included a Chipotle delivery.

I do really enjoy work, well I’ll even venture to say I Love it, especially when I feel like I’m helping achieve something (or just making sure something works properly).

Oh, and, I was offered a Permanent position today.
It’s worth doing a dance about… don’t be shy, I did. Quite a bit actually.

COLOR.

Here are photo’s of the budoir….

Sorry if it’s too much for ya…. I’ve never gotten to paint before. I LOVE color! So, I might be going overboard. I gotta get my kicks when I can. Maybe, a day will come that I will decide to tone it down. I don’t see that day coming anytime soon. This is too much fun.

292This was the day I painted, just ignore painter’s tape . This shows the color well, since it was still daylight.

3793969139_d342b793e6A little more complete look, but at night.

3794795142_f6dff512f6I’m pretty stoked about how well this lamp shade fits in with the decor.

One more.

I’m having too much with the Architectural Digest website. I love seeing Hollywood stars at home, I love seeing Hollywood stars at all! I wish I was around in that era.

Gotta love that face…

Totally lagging.

I’ll work on getting photos of the bedroom (which is currently in works) tonight. We bought the paint color Friday night and got a little nervous when I saw how light it looked. (I’m new to the painting thing, I’m allowed to be confused) Anyhow, I got theat shit done all by myself Saturday Morning while Jeremy was working, with two minor mishaps (some paint where it shouldn’t be) nothing that can’t be fixed easily. And The color turned out great! Look for it later!

I NEEEEEED a dresser (and nightstand). My hunt is not going well :(

Here are some FUN photos, if you’re bored and love Hollywood as much as I do!

And, More John Wayne below, because this quote from his daughter, makes him my new hero:

“Dad loved to watch the kids get a kick out of it all; it pleased him to see happy children. He was the first one awake on Christmas morning because he took such pleasure in seeing children open their gifts. I remember he would pace the hallways at 4:00 A.M., and I thought it was Santa—but it was my dad waiting for daylight so we could open our presents… Funny, isn’t it? For a tough cowboy, he was the biggest mush-ball you ever came across.”

Blog.

I enjoy this theme the most, but cannot figure out why it only looks good when the most recent entry is super short. That’s basically the main point of this post. Sorry, I got nothing.

Updates after the weekend. I intend on PAINTING, at least the bedroom. The Living Room hasn’t been decided. I need to look at more colors. I’ll pick up more samples when I got to buy the bedroom color :)

BEDTIME!

We got our bed!

I found a guy seilling a plain black platform bed. Super simple, very sleek. We’ve had it 3 nights, and I’m so pleased with it. $80! Score.

Picture 042Building the bed, in our messssssssss of a bedroom. Don;t judge. I’ve had zero time.

Desk chair up- date/grade?

I had decided a while back that I wanted a new desk chair. And the move was a perfect chance to leave the old on on the curb and hunt for something a little easier on the eyes. The old chair wasn’t in bad shape by any means.

I had bought it from ikea a few year back when I first had gotten my current computer, with the idea that I needed something really cozy for hours all the hours of Sims 2 I intended to be playing. Well, iy was very cozy. But, it’s bulky, and just not very “cute”.

So, I began to search for something I liked. I had seen some used ikea chairs on Craigslist from time to time, and was pretty set on going that route, as with almost  all of my furniture :) except that we did make a Friday night trip to ikea last week and tested a few out…

Meet Patrick (above). If I had my way and an extra $200, this would have come home with me. I LOVE this chair. Maybe Someday…

Another one I enjoyed, in store:

34959_PE125276_S4The Skruvsta. Pretty cute, and comfy. Well, as it happens a guy was selling his off on Craiglist.  This chair is about $150 at Ikea. A quick drive to East San Jose and $40 in cash, and I came home with this bad boy Tuesday night. I am pleased.

Picture 058And there is my desk area as of now! Got my computer set up Wednesday night, THANK YOU HARLEYYYYY!!!!!! It runs GREAT! I’ve got Windows 7! And I think it’s really nice so far! I am a fan.

One at a time.

I have a few updates, that have been getting put off. So, here we go.

I’ll start with a few random photos I took during out first few days in the apartment:

This last photo I took, because Jeremy’s eggs totally did that on their own when he cracked them into the bowl. kind funny. I thought I had more photos. But I guess not. It’s better this way, the rest of the place had boxes everywhere. It still does now, even. :/

Well, you got a peek at the kitchen.  I plan to paint that back wall next to the refrdgerator. The kitchen is so Black and White, which I love, but I think a pop of color would be nice.

I have arrived!

Thank you to Mario, for my new home. I am so excited.
