A Love letter to Mallory.
The clutch pictured below was a custom request for the lovely Mallory of Mallory Makes Things. I was so honored and excited when Mallory contacted me with a custom bag request and to offer some amazing, and much needed artwork.
While Mallory painted away (and developed this gorgeous fall dress line), I put together this Love letter to send to her.
Dear Mallory,
I am inspired and in awe of your talent and work everyday that I come across something you’ve done or are working on. I am excited that I could make and send you one of my bags. And I am honored to now have such a beautiful, customized piece of your artwork on my website for all to see. You are one of the sweetest people I have come to know through the blogging and handmade world. Meeting people like you online is one of the reasons I Love having a blog and doing what I get to do everyday. Thank you for everything you do!
xoxo
Love,
Krust.

Week in iPhone #15
I realize how incredibly absent I have been. I wish I were a better everyday blogger. But, I am not. Here is a little iPhone photo update of my last couple weeks.
Just before moving, I started working a new bag line for the fall. The last few weeks have been spent packing, cleaning, developing new bags, and babysitting. There was a little fun int here too, of course…
The above photos are a mish-mash and in no order at all. Working on my favorite bag in the new line with a homemade iced coffee at my side
. My new work space in my new house! A Love Letter for an amazing lady. Lots of thread! My gorgeous nephew, Truman rockin his hat to the back. Cleaning out my work space, found a good chunk of bent pins. Someone on instagram commented that it was a sign of hard work. That made me feel better, I thought I just had issues. Getting my hair did. Relaxing after some serious packing and saying goodbye to a really great bedroom!
Well, I’m mostly settled here in my new place, so I will be more regular here on the blog. AND, I have a lot of fun, exciting things coming up! Like a NEW bag line. Hope you haven’t forgotten about me. <3
Stripes and Hearts for Bridesmaids.
The devine, Miss (Soon to be Mrs!) Melissa over at Hi Baby contacted me a few weeks back about putting together some bags that she could gift to her Bridesmaids. I was, again, super excited to get to work on an order for Bridesmaids! She chose the Grey and White striped zipper clutches with pink lining, and pink heart zipper tags. It was so fun getting them all ready, and I Loved getting to see them all together and stacked up when they were finished. Bulk orders are the best!
Not ONLY am I sharing photos of the finished product, but I also want to let you all know that Melissa has put together some AMAZING Wedding week giveaways. Melissa is getting married this weekend and has set up 5 giveaways for each day leading up to her big day! And on day one she has offered up one of my bags!!! So head over and enter, and check out the other giveaways that are up already, and watch for the 2 to come tomorrow and Friday!
Congratulations Melissa! I cannot wait to see pictures of your special day <3
Mixed prints, and double stripes.
I’ve never been too great at the whole pattern mixing thing. But, it is totally one of my most favorite trends. So, I was excited to take this opportunity to challenge myself.
I didn’t get too crazy. I would have like to try a bit more. As it turns out, I just don’t have a lot of patterns in my closet! I never realized jut how plain I really am. Also, trying to put patterns and prints together is totally a complex puzzle. And I LOVE it. Anyhow, this is what I came up with. It’s not as mixxxy as it could be, but I reallllly love this outfit!
striped tee: H&M
sheer top: something from TJ maxx
scarf: Forever 21
skirt: Target
flats: Urban
clutch: Krust.
Can’t wait to check out everyone else’s posts. I Love EBEW.
My favorite shorts.
I Love these shorts. They are absolutely part of my everyday Summer uniform. I would LOVE them in black denim! I may have to work on DIY-ing myself a pair.
Starting a list of DIY short projects to tackle!
Scalloped shorts would be so sweet and girly. THIS tutorial is in my list of to do’s.
I just think THESE are plain amazing. And hope to bust out a pair asap.
And, I would LOVE a pair of floral print shorts. I gotta work on finding a good pattern to make a pair!
it’s time to move on, time to get going…
It’s official, the deposit has been paid, and my 30 days to vacate has been submitted. I am moving.
I have been ready and wanting to move back to the Peninsula for quite some time now, and I’m really excited now to actually be getting up there! My Sister and I are teaming up with my Brother, Sister in law and kiddos. We found a large 4 bedroom house and are going to commune (or as we are calling it, Brandtmune) it up. I am pretty excited. I spend all of my free time at my Brother’s as it is. So this just makes thing simpler. There are many nights that I find myself hanging out with my Sister in Law so late doing lord knows what, that my poor Brother will end falling asleep on the couch while we are monopolizing the bedroom. I always feel so bad. But, I think this house will remedy that. There are plenty of hang out spots!

Some of my happiest times spent with my new Roomies!!!
I do have to say I am totally going to miss my apartment. I do love this place. I have been so proud of it since I first saw my unit for the first time. This place really was a gem. They were in the middle of basically flipping an older building. For the first time I got to move into a place with NEW floors, all NEW kitchen appliances, NEW toilet, my own, new washer and dryer, and new gorgeous black granite counter tops. Living in the sorts of rentals I had previously lived in, this was QUITE the treat! I moved in with my boyfriend at the time with a pretty killer deal. I was just getting off being unemployed and was able to make it work. I was even able to keep things going while living here alone for a bit until I lost my job again and my sister saved me by moving into my dining area! Since then, it’s been a little different, but we’ve made it work and I still love my place. I’ve had a lot of fun here. I have felt my most independent here. This was the first place I did live on my own, even if only for a few months. I even ambitiously bought a 9 foot Christmas tree because I was so excited to have my own place to decorate at Christmas. (Turns out, Christmas isn’t so fun to celebrate alone, though. Go figure
)
I LOVE my pool and my closet. I do not like the 30 minute drive to everything I want to do. So, I am ready to say goodbye now. I get to be with some of the most important people in my life, everyday. I get to see my Father and my Aunt a lot more! I get a work space that no one will have to sleep in! My sister will have a bedroom again, which I can only imagine, she must be stoked about. Although, she’s never complained once about her makeshift bedroom. She’s a trooper. I get to share a work space with one my biggest supporters and biggest motivators and my go to for anything business related. I really think having an office space with Emily is going to be amazing for me. She’s always got the answer to just about anything and I feel like she can untangle any mess I have inside my head. I always appreciate having her around so, I’m extra excited that she won’t be able to escape me, now!
So, that is my update for now. Really, really can’t wait. I am 1 week (or less) away from moving day right now. eeeeek!
Denim on Denim.
Don’t you love cleaning out your closet and finding clothes buried in the back you forgot that even had? I do! I have been organizing and going through my closet this week. Getting back into deep dark corners. A couple nights ago I dug out this skirt. I bought it when I worked at Urban Oufitters. I used to have it both blue and black denim. My dumb butt got rid of the blue years ago. Thankfully, I kept this one. Because, I love it. I was surprised to find that it still fits (it does have a lot of stretch). It’s super comfy, and I’m stoked. Can’t wait to see what else I find! I am going through my extensive denim (lots of jeans!!!!) collection this weekend. And yes, I actually at one point literally, and physically “collected” jeans. I am not confident that I will be able to get rid of any. I Love my denim.
Striped tank: Forever 21
Denim Jacket: Gap
Pencil skirt: Lux via Urban Outfitters
Bag: Krust.
I wasn’t sure if my denim jacket was going to work with this black denim pencil skirt. But, once I had it on I really kind of dug it… I haven’t been brave enough to try the all blue denim on denim yet. But, I LOVE some looks I have seen. This might be more in my personal denim on denim comfort zone.
