Let’s admire the pattern forming.

The weather has been amazing here! I have been getting a lot of work done but still making sure I get out and enjoy the weather plenty. I spent a few hours Tuesday out by the pool with Lisa (don’t be too jelly, I may not have a pool after August, so I’m really taking advantage this Summer). This week is going by quick, on top of filling bag orders, sitting by the pool and taking extra babysitting hours, It feels like it’s just about over already. The days, weeks, and months are going by really fast right now. I’m not sure I like it. This is an exciting time in my life and I really want to soak it all in. I also want to accomplish a lot before the Summer is over and I’m starting to feel overwhelmed with the time flying by! I need to really buckle down to be sure I get it all done, and still try to enjoy myself in the meantime. Shouldn’t be too hard. But it is, after all, called WORK for a reason.

These pictures are from Monday afternoon actually. I made a quick trip to the post office. The usual. I had never really carried the Tan doily clutch, so I thought I’d rock it. I kept my outfit pretty neutral. I’m not very ballsy when it comes to fashion. I wish I was sometimes. But, at the end of the day, I do really love my browns, tans, greys, and blacks.

Heart Collector Messenger!

I have a new bag to debut!

It’s a messenger style shoulder bag with the Heart Collector desgin. Sooooo cute, right?! I am in LOVE. Literally.

Go get it in the shop, HERE.

This first one is going to my girlfriend, Stephanie. She actually ordered it a bit ago.  And now that it’s ready, I don’t realllllly want to give it up! So, I had to take outside to model it just for a second… It will be hard to let go.

It’s okay. she can have it. I just started making one for myself anyway. Maybe, black hearts though?

Double Dotted.

I wore double dots, yesterday, during a quick break. I ran out for what was supposed to be 2 quick errands, but ended up with me at Michaels for about an hour in the scrap booking area. I do not scrap book… yet. But, I am putting together a photo book of bags  to show to some people I’m meeting on Friday and to have at swap meets and shows I want to go to. Welllll, I got good and sucked into to all things scrap booking! There is some super fun looking stuff. I only got an album, 2 packs of plain paper and a couple printed pages and spent a good chunk of change. I can only imagine how much real scrap bookers spend. I shouldn’t talk though, because what I can spend in the fabric store is nothing to joke about…

Black skinnies: Old Navy

Grey Heartstrings tote: Krust.

My outfit is mostly a joke. I stayed low key today (when am I not?) But a tad more relaxed today since I was running on a little less sleep than usual. I stayed up until about 530am with my Sister in Law to watch William and Kate get married! And woke up around 10am. It was fun to watch live. I got butterflies a few times. It was very sweet. I love seeing them together. Even though I always dreamed of marrying Prince William… I am so happy to see that they ended up together. Love love loved it all.

I put my hair in milkmaid braids today. I really need to rock this ‘do more often. I really love it, and it keep all my hair out of my face while sewing. Quite practical.

Happy Weekend everyone!

Granny chic.

This might be my favorite outfit. Kinda boring, I suppose. But this is my ideal outfit for everyday. Especially with the weather we are having right now. Gorgeous and sunny with a breeze. I cut a pair of old Navy skinnies that I didn’t really like as jeans. Viola! My new favorite shorts! And, of course I wanted to carry one of my new Doily Clutches. I chose the Grey! Because, it’s my personal favorite. It’s a little granny chic, so I’m rocking a bit of a granny updo. Keeping it consistent… maybe?

Okay, back to work on a few more new bags!

Better late than never, 30 for 30 picks.

M picks for the 30 for 30, minus 2 items. I will add them tonight hopefully.

Project ReStyle: Heart Collector Necklace.

I took apart this multi strand skull necklace that I had gotten from Urban Outfitters when I was working there years back. I never wear it, and the skull is sort of heavy and never sits right, it’s always facing down or something wacky. I put together a cluster of the canvas hearts I have leftover from making this clutch: the Heart Collector clutch, and then attached them to the chain! Jewelry making is something I have really been itching to get into, and I had somewhat recently purchased a beginners kit that had the pliers needed, and they came in super handy for this!

I plan to make a few more of these to add to the shop! Maybe a good idea? I LOVE it.

Duck.

I curled my hair today. I had curled it over the weekend, but washed it out the day of, which made me a tad sad. I like to make it last at least an extra day. I love 2nd day curled hair. So I threw my hair in some hot rollers before I started sewing this morning, and took them out at lunch! I’m not a curling iron person. I don’t have the patience. I LOVE hot rollers or sponge rollers. I have a set of each. I can throw them in and go about doing other chores for a bit before removing them, and viola! Curls!

I snapped a few quick pics while I was out today running a few errands, carrying my new favorite clutch! I will have some of these more basic clutches available in February. I’m waiting on more of the striped fabric that I used for the lining. It was leftover from a dress I made close to Halloween. And, apparently Black and white striped cotton fabric isn’t AS common the rest of the year ’round. CRAZY if you ask me. But, I found some online and placed an order!

long sleeve: Old Navy

Knit skirt: Forever 21

Boots: Express

Clutch: Krust.

I have yet another sneak peek of some of the clutches that will be available on Thursday now ( They are all done and ready to go, just going to having a formal photo shoot tomorrow afternoon). I will be listing them on Etsy tomorrow evening!

This is just the first run. In the process of making this line, I have come to discover the fabrics I realllly want to use more of. I have had a little feedback, and I am excited about where I am heading with my bags. I had so much fun making these last week. I can’t wait to get started on a few more exciting pieces that I already have planned out, and spoken for…. :) I love requests.

Project ReStyle: Simple dress shortening.

I have  love affair with all things striped. And, I’m always looking for good striped dresses. I found this vintage striped dress on eBay a while back and have sort of let in sit in my closet because I wasn’t sure how I felt about it once I got it an tried it on.

When I first put it on, I immediately felt sort of drowned in fabric. It’s not too big for me by any means, it’s just a bit long, and has these large chunky sleeves. I do like a good puffy dolly sleeve, but these were just too bulky and long. I appreciate a more delicate pouff.  The big sleeves and the length just equaled out to too much.

When I first read about Elsie and Rachel’s Project ReStyle collective, The dress was the first thing that came to my mind.

When I set out to work on it originally, I had planned to shorten the sleeves and take up the length.

Hacked off bottom addition.

New hem.

After taking up the length I went to try it on and decided I had removed enough fabric. The sleeves no longer looked as bulky to me. They seemed to balance out the short length now, so I ended up leaving them. And this was the easiest ReStyle ever! Hopefully I can get a bit crazier on the next one. I did not wear the dress today since I was home most of the day. But, I did throw it on to get some pics. I plan to wear it this weekend if I make any plans. Here is the finished product!

Viola!

An outfit: Look at my tights! My tights are amazing.

I LOVE these tights. I loved this whole outfit. I wore this to work on Friday. I was super cozy. The dress is short-ish, but I didn’t feel like worrying about a short length, so I threw on a longer fitted knit skirt underneath to create a little makeshift peplum thing. I dug it. But, the tights are the best part of the outfit. They are almost like thermals, but they aren’t thick and they kept me warm. New favorites!
