Snow.
Looking at some fellow bloggers recents posts has me really wishing I lived somewhere where it snowed. Just a bit. I miss the snow. It’s not worth it being cold just to be cold. I want go sledding, catch snowflakes in my mouth, or sit by a fire and watch a snow storm out the window.

Snow It won't be long before we'll all be there with snow Snow I want to wash my hands, my face and hair with snow Snow I long to clear a path and lift a spade of snow Snow Oh, to see a great big man entirely made of snow Where it's snowing All winter through That's where I want to be Snowball throwing That's what I'll do How I'm longing to ski Through the snow-oh-oh-oh-oh Those glist'ning houses that seem to be built of snow Snow Oh, to see a mountain covered with a quilt of snow What is Christmas with no snow No white Christmas with no snow Snow I'll soon be there with snow I'll wash my hair with snow And with a spade of snow I'll build a man that's made of snow I'd love to stay up with you but I recommend a little shuteye Go to sleep And dream Of snow
Some Felt Ornaments.
Just a couple of the felt ornaments I made this year. I need to get better about documenting my projects. I was pretty excited for all the ornaments I did.
A sewing machine and an octopus.
The octopus was a hit, I ended up making 3 more in various color schemes for all of my girlfriends.
Darth Vader and Storm Trooper for Ryan.
His Birthday is December 12 and it was Star Wars themed. These were perfect to decorate his gift with. And worked out even better apparently since Ryan has his own little Christmas tree. His Dad sent me this pic. Makes me super happy. I Love this kid.
* All ornaments were inspired by other creations. These were not designed by me. None of these are made for profit by me. Just for fun.
It’s almost time…
This might have been one the tougher Holiday seasons I’ve had the past few years. This past last half year or so in general has been a collective low for me I think. I’m just not quite myself. It is however one of the cheapest holiday seasons I’ve had! I did great this year. I’m actually not noticeably hit financially. Win. Handmade gifts are the way to go. Oh, and Amazon prime is a god send. I’m really happy with my gifts this year. Well, for the most part…
I am really excited to start my actual Christmas weekend. I cannot wait to get off work today. I’m going to my aunt’s annual Holiday party tonight. I get to see family and friends I don’t see regularly enough, or regularly at all.
Christmas Eve will be low key. It will likely be spent finishing up last minute gifts with a movie marathon of sorts, I imagine. And a possible game night at my Aunts.
Christmas Day will also probably be low key. I might see if my borther and sister in law will let me come harass them and play with the kiddos. Then for dinner I am head to my sister in laws Fathers house! They have so graciously included my family for the past few years, and it’s always so fun and soooooo yummy. Emily’s stepmom is an amazing cook.
And THEN, the day after Christmas, on Sunday I am head to Pleasonton to take part in one of my favorite Christmas events ever! I missed out last year. My sister in laws Mother’s family has a HUGE family and consequently a large gathering (Again, I have graciously been included for the past few years)
I’m most excited about getting to spend time with my brother and hid family this year. I usually do. But, more so this year since we are almost doing all the same things, minus a couple. I just want to watch my niece and nephews faces throughout it all. The gifts, the friends, the excitement. My nephew, Hudson, is at such a fun age. Everytime I see or hear something new he’s learned or does, I get a little choked up. Or the little things he does to straight up mimic my brother. I can’t even explain how sweet it is to watch him with my brother. He idolizes him. I understand thats fairly normal for a son. But, this is my brother. It’s sort of amazing to sit by and watch. He’s such a fun little guy.

I CANNOT wait to give all of them their gifts. I got them each an article of clothing (typical Auntie style, but I couldn’t pass up baby Levi’s 511 skinnies for the boys), as well as a collective gift! Hudson is already quite the music lover so, I think this gift is going to be a good one.
Tree decorating. Old News.
On Black Friday at about 2am, Stephanie and Mario convinced me to attempt to get cheap TV’s. I had been wanting one. So, I ventured out into the Freeezing cold, half asleep and slumped into the car. (Thank you Steph and Mario for driving to Sunnyvale. I wouldn’t have gone otherwise, for fear of falling asleep at the wheel. I was that tired) The cold woke me right up! And we had quick bite at Denny’s and went to scout out Both Sunnyvale and Mountain View Targets, and the Mt. View Walmart. Well, the NEW Sunnyvale Target had the shortest line, so, we decided to get in that one. It’s bigger, and newer. So, my thought was more merchandise. Maybe? eh. Well, we got in and, no one walked away with a new TV, because they went fast, and we didn’t have the maps telling us where they were (not in Electronics). BUT, I did get a $3 Crockpot, and $3 Coffeemaker. So, I still win.
After going to bed at 7am, and waking up at about 2pm. I decided to put my tree up! I wasted no time. Really, I was tempted to put it up the night before Thanksgiving. Anyhow, I got it up, minus a section towards the bottom. Yeah, I had to leave out about 2 feet. I should have measured my ceilings before assuming a 9ft tree would fit. Oh well. Fortunately Jeremy got off work just as I was struggling with and helped me get it together.
Just as I had finished getting it up Laura, John, and Ryan came over after their busy day of shopping and Donating. A special treat, since it meant that I had a helper for decorating my still huge tree! Ryan and I spent most of their visit placing Ornaments on my tree. And it looks Awesome, if I do say so myself.

Faux.
Going to buy this tonight:

It’s 9 feet tall.
So stoked.
I have never done a fake tree before. When living with my parents, we always cut them down. When living with my sister, we’ve always either gone to cut one down or bought one at the lot (or Target!) Last year, we didn’t even get one, it was horribly depressing. The year before that we lived on the third floor, and had this great living room with high ceilings and wanted to take advantage. We went to chop a big sucker down. Well, putting it up in the stand was NOT fun. It was gorgeous once we got it straight. Taking it down, was a headache, to say the least. The pine needles were everywhere places, the tree never even passed through! Well, I ended up breaking my perfectly good vacuum that year.
I LOVE the smell of Christmas trees! and I have definitely knocked faux tress in the past… but, until I have good man around to do the dirty work. I’m going fakey. Hey if it goes well, I may stay fake forever! I found this 9 foot pre lit kirkland signature one used, so it was cheaper! I can have the BIG tree I want, with less clean up.
And, I bought a pine scented reed diffuser that I plan to hide behind or inside the tree somewhere… hehe. tricky….
