Sick day.

This post is going to be boring. I have no pictures to share from today.

I went to bed last feeling a little, eh. I woke up today feeling defeated. I either have an ear infection or the flu. I wish I had a cold :( but, no. Instead, my entire body is useless. I’m like and old lady. Lots of aches and when I move to fast it’s worse. boo. So, I sat in bed all day and worked on some necklaces! I hoping tomorrow I have some more energy and can get to work on some wallets.

I did a Project Restyle this week, but It’s not that impressive. Maybe I’ll share it really quick in a separate post. I already finished one for next week that I’m excited about getting photographed! I only have before photos now.

I’m thinking about joining Kendi’s 30 for 30 challenge again. I realize I failed during the Fall challenge, but I’m feeling like it would be really fun to give another shot! And, I won’t be shopping anyway. AND, I already have 2 newish pairs of shoes from a while back that I’ve never worn that will be fun to throw into it. PLUS, I’m home MAKING accessories to spruce up any outfit! Decision made. I hope no one holds against me that I didn’t finish last time.

Sneak peek at a debuting Krust clutch!

Just a sneak peak of what I have been working on this week. One of the clutches for my line of bags. I did it in a few other color combos. I am still building up the whole line. The first run of clutches will consist of 5 designs (This is one), in varying color combinations. Hoping to have all of the clutches ready to list in my Etsy shop by next Monday!

Project Restyle: Dotted J.Crew copy.

The cheat:

I swooned over these flats from J.Crew last year.  They are no longer available, and even when they were, they were far too rich for my blood ( I think like $90! For flats!) After stumbling across a photo of them again recently, I decided they’d be great inspiration for a “Project Restyle“, uh, Project! So here’s how the whole project went down:

The Before. beat up black canvas flats. I LIVE in flats, when I’m not wearing boots. And when I find a good pair, I wear them down. These got a lot of use. They had started to look pretty ratty. Before I took this photo I gave them a bit of a bath, let them dry and began:

I did purchase some acrylic paint at Joann’s for .99! The fabric, and craft ribbon I had leftover from other projects. I dotted the acrylic paint all over using an eyeshadow sponge applicator (never use those for eyeshadow anyway), and made a couple quick fabric flowers, and tied some craft ribbon into a bow. Then I used hot glue gun and stuck them on me newly dotted flats.

Viola! The finished product!

I left the sewing machine this afternoon to run a few quick errands. So, I took the opportunity to snap a few outfit photos with my renewed flats!

The other stuff-

Jeans: Seven for all Mankind via Off 5th Ave, Saks outlet.

Undershirts: Hanes and Forever 21.

Sweater: H&M

Scarf: Forever 21

Purse: H&M

Flats! Wild Diva Restyled by Moi!

I <3 PROJECT RESTYLE!

Sorry, J.Crew for copying… Not that I could buy the flats now, anyhow (or then :/) But, I LOVE just about EVERYthing you do. I’m very happy that you marked down the Rimini Cardigan and added an extra 30% off so that I could finally snatch that sweet thang up!

Look at this!

Sweet baby Bronwyn sporting a lovely floral headband from The Stitches by Krust Etsy shop, during a photo shoot set up by her lovely mother, Eileen from Bringing up Bronwyn.

I am so happy that I get to share them.  Look at that precious face <3

Pretty little brooches in the shop!

Just put these precious little pins in my Etsy shop.

They are quite fun, and versatile! I wore some in my hair this weekend using a bobby pin.

The shop is here: Krust on Etsy.

Homemade Mother's Day Card.

Saturday, I realized, that I had not yet purchased my Aunt a Mother’s Day card.  I was at home crafting all afternoon, and it occurred to me that it could be super cute to make one! I remember as a kid, my Mom, Aunt and Grandma loved homemade cards. So, I thought it could be a nice little throwback.

I had already made the flowers with the intent on using them on a hair piece or brooch, and I stitched the greeting on in embroidery thread, and the paper got a little crinkled in the process. But, it turned out pretty cute, I think.

As it turns out, she's an excellent little muse…

Another headband for my niece, Sawyer. This time a bit more colorful!

I’m finishing up a handful of these in various color combos to be added to the shop mid-week.  I also have a few other brooches and clips coming too, a preview of those is coming tonight or tomorrow.

A headband for Sawyer.

First successful headband for my niece Sawyer’s little dome. I whipped up a quick one late last night to test it out. It fits!

Now, to whip up a bunch more (she needs every color, and every color combo!)

Felt models.

My sister and our good friend, Stephanie came over to swim on Saturday. They were into some of the simple flowers I had been putting together lately. So, before sending them home, I let them pick out a few colors flowers put them on a pin for them to wear how ever they want and, I snapped some pics really quick.

Sari loves her Ketchup and Mustard.

All my ladies are allowed to pick whatever you want, seriously. Sarah and Steph just happened to be over this weekend and got first pick.

Here is Steph, enjoying hers!

Lots of work, lack of money, trying this Etsy thing out, oh, and a link to a giveaway…

This week has begun particularly rainy, cloudy and gloomy. Very fitting with my mood. Tax day is Thursday, and I owe. Sat with a tax man to help me sort everything out, only to find out that I didn’t even have the funds to pay him to file for me. Sooooo, I have to go back tomorrow morning, after having to beg for money to borrow until payday, ironically on Thursday. Today has been pretttttttty gloomy for me. I was really planning on not needing to ask ANYONE for money throughout this mess I’m in. (losing a roommate and having to take on paying a 2 person lease on my own, my decision, yes, then realizing I will owe on my taxes, and thennnn my Salary being cut by 50%).  This may all be too too personal. But, sometimes you just need to VENT! after each thing, I kept telling myself  “I’ll figure it all out, it’ll be okay!” Always the optimist, I got hit after hit. I’m officially down on the ground. Hoping to climb back up pretty quickly. I’m sorry, I’m not hoping, I’m doing it.

I have wanted to start an Etsy shop for some time, and what better time to start than now? Exactly.  So, I’ve holed myself up inside my apartment quite a bit, and probably will continue to do so until I have a large amount of product that I am happy with.

I opened the shop today, with the most basic simple items I could whip up just get it started. But, I promise I have some great ideas in store. And every second I get to spend on it, I do (sadly my 50% salary cut does not come with a 50% work load cut, so I am still working full time).  I love getting to do something I love and the hope that it will possibly turn into something profitable, even if it’s very minor. It is still very fun WORK.

So, check it out:

Krust Crafted.

Please keep in mind that it is still very much a work in progress.

Also, I teamed up with Emily again this month for another giveaway. This month, Strawberries! Check it out, and enter to win!

Reviews & Giveaways: Have a BERRY nice day.
