Love and Happiness: attending a wedding.
On Saturday, I got to go to a wedding! I felt so honored to have been invited. I love getting dressed up, and planning outfits (especially for fancier occasions). Once I found something to wear and had it all planned (and even mapped) out with jewelry to match, I was just over excited and anxious to get ready. I started to get ready wayyy too early. But, I knew I wanted to snap a few pictures before I left.
I love the dress, but the sizes didn’t cooperate with my body as much as I would have liked. The 12 was reallllly tight in the hips and butt. Sitting down would have been an issue. things may have ripped :/ So I tried the 14. The 14 fit great in the hips and butt, however, I apparently do not have the boobs of a size 14, and the top could have fit another cup size or 2. It was pretty loose and my bra popped out a 2 times in back
but, when it did 2 super nice ladies (one being the bride) came to my rescue and discretely tucked it back in real quick. THANK YOU!
Dress: H&M
Pumps: Forever 21
Clutch: It’s not a pillow. Made by me. I bought the fabric as a remnant from Joann Fabrics. It felt like a nice sturdy canvas, perfect for a bag, I LOVED the color. As I started constructing the bag, I realized it was straight up outdoor upholstery fabric. CRAP! Oh well, I kept with it. 2 people asked if it was a pillow. Whatev. I still like it.
The little things:
Antiqued gold multi chain necklace: Forever 21
Amber Heart charm necklace: A gift my brother gave to my Mother.
Ring: My Mother’s
This is a ring she had made from her wedding ring and a sapphire anniversary ring from my Father. After my parents separated, she had them melted down and made into something a little more wearable, I guess. It is missing one sapphire, which I hope to replace someday.
Saturday was the first time I ever really wore the ring. I’ve put it on a few times, but never really wore it out of the house. I plan to more. It’s a really rad ring, and fits me perfectly. My and my Mother had matching man looking hands. I was pretty excited to top my outfit off with a few of my Mother’s special pieces. She loved to dress up just as much, if not more, than I do!
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable.
Skirt: Old Navy
Leggings: Urban Outfitters
Thermal: Forever 21
Scarf: Forever 21
Belt: Forever 21 (came with another top)
Boots: Target
Big ol’ bag/ duffel/Purse: Forever 21 (L<3VE this thing)
I had my hair done last weekend, but after washing it was too lazy to blow dry and style it. This is the result of air drying and throwing it in a messy bun to keep out of my face while I sew. It looked SO nice after having it done. I need to get myself in a better routine so I can get all the things I want to, done. Such as blow drying and sometimes even straightening my hair. I feel like I don’t have time for anything, but at that same time don’t feel like I do enough to not have the time for those things. sheesh! I’m a mess.
I need to find balance. I need to figure out how I can be happy working full time every day, and then still find the time to do the creative things I am constantly anxious to work on, when the work day is over. AND do my laundry, prepare a decent meal, spend time with my friends and family, make time for just me, pamper myself, workout. Okay, now I think I’m going to have a panic attack. There is just not enough time for it all. How do you do it all?
Yes, this post title is from the Papa Roach song “Tightrope” it was the hidden track on the album I had. Always really liked that song.
It’s yo birthday, so I know you want to ride out.
On Friday night, I went out with some girlfriends to celebrate Stephanie’s birthday! Stephanie met up at the apartment with Sarah and I. We all got ready together before meeting up with a couple other girls downtown.
And, before we headed out we had a photo shoot. Of course.
Sari (rockin’ her sailor colors):
Steph (classic and cool):
We Love playing dress up.
Happy Birthday, Steph! Hope you had a blast.
Love it! Win! Best.
And any other positive words I can use to describe it.
January Jones.
I’m in love. Love the hair, the subtler makeup, THIS Versace textured BLUE dress. I think it looks so fun and super glamorous. and her dark nail polish and simple black pumps finish it off just right. Not too much going on accessory wise, seems necessary with a dress like this. I just love it.
Sadly, it’s making it’s way into some worst dressed lists. Makes me sad. I was happy to see something out of the norm, that wasn’t over the top or just weird. I would rock this. I would do things to be able to rock this… I’m not sure what I mean.
Bangs.
Got a little ballsy tonight and cut my bangs.
Before.
After.
I’m not sure what I was thinking, because I usually screw it up. But, I get the idea in my head, and I’m too impatient :/ Not that they are perfect, but I am quite pleased with them. At least for now.
It just looks a bit cleaner. I like long bangs, but mine weren’t working they way they used to on me. I’ve been just pinning them back to get them out of the way and it wasn’t cute. I also think shorter, straighter bangs make more sense with my current assymetrical haircut. Also, when its necessary, I love straight across bangs with a ponytail
first outift post.
Maybe I’ll try to do one or 2 a week. Let’s see how that goes.
This is from last Friday night. Sarah and I went dancing in San Jose with some friends.
I did my curls pretty well, I feel like. I was pleased with them.
and here is what I wore:
Hooded faux leather jacket: Forever 21
Long black ballet tunic: Target
Floral scarf: Target
Black wet look leggings: Marshall’s
Vintage flat Boots: Urban Outfitters (Urban Renewal)
and for extra fun! (and so I’m not totally alone my first time) Here’s what Sari wore:
Looking like a straight up pinup girl!
Halter dress: (I believe) Love Culture. I’ll have to double check.
Shoes: Nine West

A little update up on this post from September 2009: like list
.Big Curls. I Love the BIG curls on shorter hair! Lady Gaga wears it so well, too. I’m working on it. Not doing very well, so far.
.mint nail polish. I just love it. It’s great for spring, and actually goes with more than I would have thought I have a darker mint shade only, I’m on the hunt for a lighter one, like this…
. The Sun. I’m not a fan of rain unless I’m inside with the heat on or a fireplace going. I love this time of year when it starts getting warmer, and the days last longer. It feels so good.
.Andrew Vanwyngarden. I may not get to see him live. (DAMN you jerks buying up all the MGMT tickets and selling them on craigslist for too much money.) But, lucky for me the internet is filled with photos. I know it’s sad, but I’ve reverted to my 14 year old self thanks to this guy. Just LOOK at him! The hair! the arms…, those lips, his eyes (if you could see them). Okay, I’m done.
. BodyStep. I’ve really only just started taking it, and I have some learning to do to. The steps aren’t very easy at all. BUT, it is so much fun. The 2 women who teach on Tuesday nights are great, and look amazing. I’m hoping to catch up.
. My gym in general. I’m glad I went back. I’m loving it. I miss Dave Dubrow in spin class, but it’s still fun. And I haven’t even ventured upstairs yet. Can’t wait to start kickboxing again!
.xmind. Mario showed me this great mind mapping software. We sat down and busted some shit out on it last Friday. I can’t explain how much it’s just helped me feel more organized when it comes to my thoughts and ideas right now. My mind had been storing all these thoughts since I got some bad news at work. I was able to get everything out of my head and out onto something I can go back and look at.

Well, I wanted to try to make at least one post a day, and I’m failing already. I came up with something simple enough. A photo list of things I like/love/ at this moment.
This could get random. Hope it’s not toooo boring.

Marionettes. I want to find one to hang from my cieling actually, like an old vintage one. Something dolly like. I have been toying with idea of creating a Halloween costume from this. We’ll see….

This hairstyle. It’s my favorite, and yes, it’s from my computer game The Sims 3. I’m a loser. I attempted it on my own hair a couple weekends ago, and while it was not exact, I was pleased. It will be a re occurring ‘do!

Thigh high boots that I purchased last week with money from eBay sales. I got the email yesterday that were finally shipped! They will require a night out dancing asap.

What I wore today, and Wardrobe remix blogs, and photo sets on flickr. I love seeing how people put stuff together. It’s great for inspiration, or just fun to see different people’s different styles.

Fall! My favorite season when it comes to clothes! Tights, boots, sweater, jackets, scarves. i Love Layerssss.
