Love and Happiness: attending a wedding.

On Saturday, I got to go to a wedding! I felt so honored to have been invited. I love getting dressed up, and planning outfits (especially for fancier occasions). Once I found something to wear and had it all planned (and even mapped) out with jewelry to match, I was just over excited and anxious to get ready. I started to get ready wayyy too early. But, I knew I wanted to snap a few pictures before I left.

I love the dress, but the sizes didn’t cooperate with my body as much as I would have liked. The 12 was reallllly tight in the hips and butt. Sitting down would have been an issue. things may have ripped :/ So I tried the 14. The 14 fit great in the hips and butt, however, I apparently do not have the boobs of a size 14, and the top could have fit another cup size or 2. It was pretty loose and my bra popped out a 2 times in back :( but, when it did 2 super nice ladies (one being the bride) came to my rescue and discretely tucked it back in real quick. THANK YOU!

Dress: H&M

Pumps: Forever 21

Clutch: It’s not a pillow. Made by me. I bought the fabric as a remnant from Joann Fabrics. It felt like a nice sturdy canvas, perfect for a bag, I LOVED the color. As I started constructing the bag, I realized it was straight up outdoor upholstery fabric. CRAP! Oh well, I kept with it. 2 people asked if it was a pillow. Whatev. I still like it.

The little things:

Antiqued gold multi chain necklace: Forever 21

Amber Heart charm necklace: A gift my brother gave to my Mother.

Ring: My Mother’s

This is a ring she had made from her wedding ring and a sapphire anniversary ring from my Father. After my parents separated, she had them melted down and made into something a little more wearable, I guess.  It is missing one sapphire, which I hope to replace someday.

Saturday was the first time I ever really wore the ring. I’ve put it on a few times, but never really wore it out of the house. I plan to more. It’s a really rad ring, and fits me perfectly. My and my Mother had matching man looking hands.  I was pretty excited to top my outfit off with a few of my Mother’s special pieces. She loved to dress up just as much, if not more, than I do!

iphone outfit post v2.

Here we are again. I know I will not be home early enough for decent photos since I started late-ish today. So, I thought I’d try this again. It was fun last time!

Purple loose tank: Nordstrom Rack

Men’s Hanes undershirt: Target

Black skinny jeans: Old Navy

Salt and Pepper cardigan: H&M

Black wedges: Sheikh shoes

Bracelet: Jewelry, Forever 21 and My Mom.

Goodbye sunlight.

Well, it’s getting darker earlier. As if I didn’t already have a problem getting home earlier enough. On the commute home it was sunset, and I thought I’d make it home in time for some nice shots. No such luck. I got home ran inside, met my sister ran back outside and the sky was a nice navy blue. Shoot. Oh well,  next time , we try again.

I was pretty pleased with my outfit yesterday. Keeping with that boring comfort theme. But I threw some wedges in the mix. Lately, I have been wearing a lot of flats to work. I hate towering over people. But, these were fun to add in to the mix of an otherwise pajama lookin’ outfit.

Tan Wooden Wedges: H&M

Black cuffed trousers: Old Navy

Men’s Hanes Vneck: Target

Heather grey zip hoodie: Alternative Apparel

Denim jacket: Gap

Purse: Forever 21 (Wish I could replace this, I’ve really worn it out!)

I have one daytime shot. Taken with my iphone at lunch. I like the way my shoes an purse matched the leaves so I snapped a quickie!

I’m so ready for fall and all it’s rich colors.

“If the shoe fits, wear it”

As I stated previously, Friday night I went out for a night of dancing to celebrate Stephanie’s Birthday. For the most part I dressed casually. I am having body image issues and simpler feels to look better.  But, I did break out my Sam Edelman  wedges that  I have worn only twice previously. They are like my babies. See an earlier post here, where I am pining for them. I have problem where I get certain items and I will stow them away for fear that if I wear them I will ruin them. I did this with my Christian Dior sunglasses that I purchased and wore very rarely for the first year (now I wear them regularly), among other items with similar unworn stories. I realize that the point on loving something is to get the use out if it. But, something holds me back. I’m working on it though. I think part of it, is I feel it will go to waste, and go unappreciated. This is why I want to work on documenting outfits. I feel like I’ll wear some of the great things hiding out if I know I can really show it off! Okay, enough of my silly ranting.

Here are my outfit details from Friday night:

Tank tops (2): Forever 21

Black cuffed fitted trousers: Old Navy

Sam Edelman studded wedges (in all their glory): Urban Outfitters.

It’s yo birthday, so I know you want to ride out.

On Friday night, I went out with some girlfriends to celebrate Stephanie’s birthday! Stephanie met up at the apartment with Sarah and I. We all got ready together before meeting up with a couple other girls downtown.
And, before we headed out we had a photo shoot. Of course.

Sari (rockin’ her sailor colors):

Steph (classic and cool):

We Love playing dress up.

Happy Birthday, Steph! Hope you had a blast.

Favorite FNO, the Show, looks.

So, thanks to CBS.com I was able to watch Fashion’s Night Out, The Show live streaming online yesterday! I was pretty stoked.
The show was RAD. If I ever get over my fear of flying I would LOVE Love love to try to make it to one, since this is the show anyone can attend. I love that idea. Thank you, Anna Wintour.

Pure at Heart:

I wasn’t really to keen on many on the Pure at Heart looks. I can’t say why really. I didn’t hate any of them, but nothing really stood out to me above the rest other than the complete Marni look. Maybe, I am just not in the mood for the pureness of it all right now.

j. I love this blank coat. The color makes me swoon. I love tans. But, really can we talk about the Rose Bermuda shorts? Because, I’m in L<3ve.

Fall boot wishlist.

I was going to do a Fall wardrobe wishlist, until I realized how long it was getting.

I came to the conclusion that it is totally appropriate to give boots their very own wishlist.

So, here  it is:

Just about every boot pictured here (taken at Cathy Jean on my lunch break). I have gone into try some on, and had to walk away from the possibility of buying a pair, because I cannot choose ONE. problem? maybe. I’m narrowing it down to either the Grey or Taupe (right in the center). Single Buckle Wedge Boot from Cathy Jean. I also LOVE the Wedge boot with buckles. I have similar pairs from Target (black) and Bakers (Cognac) that I have had for the past 2 years and they are looking pretty shabby, so I do want to replace them. But, I think I should find a more inexpensive route to replace them.  We’ll see.

Cuff Knee high boot. Fortunately these are much more affordable, and I love that you can unfold them and they can be over the knee. Perfect. Except again, I can’t pick one color. hmmmm.

Flat knee high boot in blue. I really like the idea of these. Even though they aren’t really practical to wear to work. At least, at my current job. But, I keep imaging them with tights and skirts and black jeans. They would be a fun switch up for me.

Dr. Marten Leather Lace up boot. Mostly, because I watched Empire Records tonight.

Aldo, Topez wedge ankle boots. These look pretty casual and comfortable for Fall and Winter. They are canvas. I tried them on in the store while wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, and they looked great. I feel like they would be an easy grab on the go shoe when I’m running late. They are pretty versatile, probably more so in black, which they are available in.

The end, for now.

update, Just found great boots on Modcloth.com, it never ends….

End of Summer.

A little outfit post. My girlfriend had an end of Summer BBQ over Labor day weekend. The weather was great. I was excited to get a few of my lady friends in one place to get them to model a few hair pieces to add to my Etsy shop. Accomplished that! Got some great pics out in the sun for the shop.

Before I headed over, I actually took time to snap a couple outfit pics. Pretty simple. Gotta keep it minimal in the heat.

Dress/top: Forever 21

Biker shorts: Forever 21

T-strap canvas flats: Urban Outfitters

These flats are my new favorite right now. I got them on sale a couple weeks ago. They make me feel a little bit like a dolly <3

I think my top is supposed to be a dress. But, since I’m 5’9″…. not so much. Luckily for me, this biker short thing is working out quite well. I love them.

In LOVE with Mauve.

I have had a serious obsession with all things the color mauve for some time now.

And in a perfect world, I would own this scarf:

I don’t see my love for mauve going anywhere anytime soon.

heart.

This made me so happy, I had to share it.

That’s all.
