Summer striped hobo bag.

I have so many fun, new things to add to the shop. It sort of keeps piling up. I hope to get the rest up tomorrow night when I can sit down and spend some time adding everything. But, tonight I was too anxious and had to be sure I could get just one new bag in. So, here it is! She is quite lovely.

Gradient Greys.

Let’s get this party started.

I’d like to introduce the first full new set of new bags. I did a nice little zippered clutch, a classic everyday hobo bag, and a weekender bag! Because, I like HUGE bags. And I have been wanting to do a weekender for a while. It’s finally here!

All the new bags feature a nice soft vinyl, or faux leather base! Great for keeping clean, if you set your bag down on the floor. Because, who doesn’t?

So, these are the 3 basic styles and sizes for the new line. And, I have more designs to come soon!

Check the out in my Etsy shop.

All of the STRIPES!

I recently did a bit of treasure hunting and collecting and have compiled a bit of spread of some GORGEOUS and stylish bloggers rockin’ their striped zipper clutches! It’s definitely my most popular bag, and my favorite. It goes with everything! Check out these lovelies and how they have styled theirs…

Juley of Swank Heights.

I Love Juley’s outfit photos. I feel like I’m looking at my bag in an ACTUAL fashion spread.

Home girl has some serious style.

See more of Elsie with her bag in her Daily outfit post titled Red Velvet (!) here.

I so hope I get to do more posts like this. I Love stumbling upon outfit posts that happen to feature a pretty little bag that I remember putting together. I get all warm and fuzzy.

Happy Thursday!!!

Fall 2011: Geometry.

I am so excited to share my new fall bags with you today!!! I went a different direction this time, and sort of kept with  a theme. I am still using my core fabrics; the Tan, Grey and Black Duck canvas. It’s just a great sturdy fabric. And I LOVE the Tan color it comes in.

Check out the 10 new bags!!!

I knew I wanted to do a chevron stripe for the new fall line. And I had been wanting try to working in some neons and some variation of neons and neutrals together. This was as far as I went and I am so pleased with it. The Tan and pink is my absolute favorite bag. Although I do really love them all!

Get your Chevron cross body bag in the SHOP. Available in Tan/Pink, Grey/Green, or Black/White.

This is one design I came up with one day while doodling and sketching over the summer.
I came across this salmon linen before coming up with the design and when I was sketching, it felt like a no brainer to include it in this new line with the grey, tan and black. I LOVE this salmon color.

Get your Angled clutch in the SHOP. Available in Tan, Grey, Black, or Salmon.

I drew this one up one afternoon while babysitting this summer. I had discovered this teal denim a few months back and used to make a doily clutch with. I KNEW I wanted to use it again and somehow incorporate into the fall line I wanted to do. Once I finished the drawings, I was so excited to get to work on them. These were the first of the fall line that I had started and finished. Seeing them all done really motivated me to get the rest done. I LOVE how they came out.

Get your triangle clutch in the SHOP. Available in Teal, Black, or Tan.

Thanks for coming to check out the new bags! Let me know what you think.

I plan to continue to add to this line with other colors and designs throughout the Fall months. So, do stay tuned for more!

A Krust booth.

I have been meaning to share a few quick pictures of what my little booth looked like at the Car show I set up at earlier this month. I had a lot of fun sort of mapping the space out beforehand and even more fun once I got there and got to work. I can’t wait to do more events like this! I Love setting my bags up in fun shop able displays.

Lot’s of bags and pretty packages.

I think I have mentioned the large bag order that I recently had worked on putting together. Well, tonight I finally sat down and edited some photos to put together a post dedicated to this first large volume order I worked on.

About a month ago, my Aunt had called me asking if I would come meet up with her and some of her friends that she does bootcamp with. She mentioned that she had told everybody about what I was doing, and they were interested in seeing some of my bags. I, of course said yes. And planned to meet them all for coffee one morning.

I had put together a photo book to bring to a vendor event that I am planning to go to in July. It’s basically a scrapbook of most of the bags I have made since starting this business in January. So, I brought that along with 1 messenger bag, 1 ruffle clutch, 1 doily clutch, and 1 tote. And some business cards.

I, honestly, went into it thinking I would pass out some cards and get some of the women to check out my Etsy shop.

Well, after a bit of sharing and story time (passing around bags samples and the photobook), I immediately started taking orders. It was amazing. I felt like I couldn’t write fast enough at a few points. My heart was pounding with excitement. Once,  my order list reached about 5 bags, I looked over at my Aunt in surprise. I had no thought that I would get 1 order just yet. Well, basically one by one, 8 different women sat next to me and explained what they’d like to order. My aunt even ordered 2 bags, and my Godmother who was also there ordered one. It felt amazing to have anyone want to order a bag. But, something about my Aunt and Godmother caring so much to support me felt really Great! I was sort of flying high by the end of all the orders. I collected some money up front, and took email addresses to email invoices and my Aunt and I parted ways with the group and walked up the street to get lunch and celebrate! I counted the order at that point. 16!!! I was FLOORED. and giddy.

After that Friday morning, I spent the next 2 weeks, processing the entire 16 bag order, and processed a few Etsy orders in the meantime. Now that I am babysitting part time every week, I am only really sewing 3 full week days right now, so it did pose a challenge. But, I worked some weekends and late nights (and actually took memorial day off) and I did it! Finished all 16, and delivered them last Friday morning.

I thought I’d share a few of the separate bag orders. This is not all of them, but it’s most. I had fun with the packaging. Since I wasn’t shipping them, I was excited to do something a little different than I usually do. I made custom craft paper sacks for each order and decorated the accordingly. I LOVE packaging!

I am always really excited about custom orders. Because, it is always fun to see something NEW come out, and what an idea looks like in the end. There were a couple custom orders in this group. The Olive on Olive Heartstring messenger bag in the 2nd order down. LOVE it. Need to make one for myself. And, then the Houndstooth messenger bag! It turned out really gorgeous with the red lining that was chosen. I am really happy with it how it turned out.

All in all this was a really fun order for me. To get one huge order and belt it out over a 2 week period. I hope to get to do something like this again. Purse party anyone?!!?

Heart Collector Messenger!

I have a new bag to debut!

It’s a messenger style shoulder bag with the Heart Collector desgin. Sooooo cute, right?! I am in LOVE. Literally.

Go get it in the shop, HERE.

This first one is going to my girlfriend, Stephanie. She actually ordered it a bit ago.  And now that it’s ready, I don’t realllllly want to give it up! So, I had to take outside to model it just for a second… It will be hard to let go.

It’s okay. she can have it. I just started making one for myself anyway. Maybe, black hearts though?

What I <3 Wednesday: Black and White Stripes!

A quick one! Because I am so sleepy… Keeping super busy over here! Starting to become the norm since the past few weeks. I’ll take it! I am filling orders, trying to stay on top of my shop by adding new designs regularly. I am also starting to plan for an actual swap meet at a car show to sell some bags at with a few other vendors. I am pretty pumped for it. But, I need to work double time to be able to have a good amount of product ready-made to take with me!!!! Wish me luck, bring me food, or remind me to take bathroom breaks… No, really. I forget.

For What I Love Wednesday, I chose Black and White Stripes! I guess it’s an obvious one. But, it was a chance to share a few fun pictures I have found and saved from about the web.

images: room, table setting, couch, boots, Balanciaga bag, Krust bag.

Seriously, Check out the table setting from Martha Stewart Weddings, and tell me that wedding doesn’t look like fun was guaranteed. I know I’m talking about black and white stripes here, but I Love the COLORS in the photo of the bridesmaids.

THAT COUCH!!! I WILL have Black and white striped upholstered furniture one day. I will.

If I could actually find that Balenciaga Bag, I would consider buying it. Okay, not really because I’d have to rob a bank. But, damn. Look. at. it. <3

Fabrics R’ Us!

Danny came over again today for a little side by side sewing again. But before we sat down to sew this afternoon we decided to make a trip to a fabric store he had once went to down in San Jose. It was awesome! They had some really neat stuff. Lot’s of pretty colors and gorgeous textures!  There were 2 stores and fabric was EVERYWHERE. As well as buttons, lace, trims, thread, and zippers!!! I was like a kid in candy store. I can’t wait to go back with a little cash in the pockets. But, I did snag up a couple great fabrics for some FUN clutches.

I gotta say, I Love that the fabric was on rolls as apposed to bolts. I bought some faux leather for a skirt and it was great that it wasn’t crazy and creased! And the prices were pretty great too. Really, can’t wait to go back!
